Here at Smith Memorial, we strive to create an enriching environment for child development and growth. Our focus is to cultivate independent learners, ensure a safe emotional and physical space, and provide opportunities for both cognitive and social/emotional growth and development.

Smith Memorial Childcare Center was established in 1966 as a mission of Epworth United Methodist Church. What began as a ministry providing affordable and quality childcare to working families soon became the first licensed daycare facility in Kalispell, Montana. Thanks to support from volunteers, the community, and the church, the legacy of Smith Memorial Childcare Center lives on as we continue to grow in our service to children and their families.

We are a faith-based program, sharing the love of Jesus with children and their families through an affirming and inclusive perspective. At Smith Memorial, we welcome children, families, and staff of all faith backgrounds. We believe in respecting and celebrating the differences that make each person unique, and we grow through love and acceptance of these differences.
